Known for his work directing actors, he has worked with names such as Júlio Andrade, Vera Holtz, Daniel de Oliveira, Caco Ciocler, and Maria Ribeiro.

Director Marcos Guttmann has built a career spanning three decades in film and television, spanning both fiction and documentary. His most recent projects include the highly anticipated "Viver de Vento" (Living on Wind), a feature film inspired by the biography of sailor Lars Grael, scheduled for release in March 2027, and the documentary "Tudo é Tempo" (Everything is Time), which follows four characters/voters over two decades, with a release in the second half of 2026.
His filmography is marked by versatility. "Maresia," his first feature film, earned him the Best Director award at Cine Ceará. He has also directed documentaries such as "Guignard: Mundo Sem Chão," and the TV series "Gerações da Vela" (SporTV) and "Arte Brasileira Quadro a Quadro" (Canal Arte 1).
